2026 Power Plays Festival

At the conclusion of America’s 250th anniversary, the inaugural Power Plays Festival by poor players productions uses political comedy to ask the question: what happens when we choose not to resist authority? Caryl Churchill’s elliptical one-act Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? and Václav Havel’s autobiographical satire Protest are paired with workshops and talkbacks led by Chicagoland artists and activists in this 3-day festival that provides audiences with a variety of opportunities to experience the intersection of art and activism.
